Rushes, shot on November 27th 1974, for a film that Jack Howells intended making about international rugby star, Barry John, who is seen reporting on a Wales v All Blacks match at Cardiff Arms Park. Footage of the crowds flocking to the game well conveys the sense of anticipation, and the carnival atmosphere of the day. A separate soundtrack consists of Jack Howells talking through a proposed screenplay for the film. He had hoped to make the film with the financial backing of Times Newspapers Limited and with facilities and footage provided by BBC Wales, but the project never came to fruition.
