Animated Shorts from Wales

Sgrin has worked with S4C to produce the Animated Shorts scheme, which is also financed with support from the Arts Council of Wales. It is a collection of 7 three minute films and 4 six minute films.

The Allotment

The Allotment tells the simple tale of friendship, the environment and regeneration. Initially the idea for a children's book, it now represents the first animation by Dan Williams. The look of the film aims to emulate the fluid, inky style of the illustrator's work.

Peek traces the emotional journey of a woman as she walks up and down a terraced street. The windows obscured by nets, she finds an anomaly - one that is bare. This access opens up her imagination, which acts as a catalyst. The world transforms into a world animated with colour.
